There aren’t many visually impaired writers with a transplanted kidney and pancreas around. In recent years, I’ve learned how to celebrate my unique situation and have a little fun with it. Fortunately, I lived in a college town in the Ozarks where quirky and creative are encouraged. I write about life here, being middle-aged, my health issues and the challenges I face. I chose the name Groping for Focus because 1. If you’re legally blind, you do grope around to find things. And 2. My eyes may not be able to focus, but I seek clarity on a deeper level. I’ve had to adjust to several surprising situations life has thrown at me. Come along for the ride, take a look into a very unusual, inspiring life, and learn some lessons along with me.
