INSIDE

Part hippy, part hillbilly.  Like their rural neighbors, they have no indoor plumbing, live in shacks and exist on a miniscule income.  The difference is they PREFER to live that way.  They left behind cushy city or suburban life to "get back to the land."  They use Microsoft computers to read websites about the evils of corporate America.  Their families up north are convinced they are crazy.   Look for tie-dye and hemp jewelry.  Their chief complaint: having to haul fresh spring water uphill...to fill their hot tubs.

Diet

Tofu, bean sprouts, brown rice

Biggest fear

That Wal-Mart will start selling Birkenstocks.

Characteristics

Aroma of patchouli, tie dye.

Mating call

"I was at Woodstock."
